Today’s advice was a simple two-word statement. Trust Yourself.

Hmmm… this sounds simple, but is it? Despite its simplicity, trusting ourselves becomes challenging amidst constant noise, negativity and input from those claiming to be experts. Many times, the “experts” are just giving their opinion not facts. It becomes easy to accept someone else’s opinion as fact, Silencing our own beautiful voice. The voice that has never failed us.

We are conditioned by the implemented unchallenged rules of the particular society in which we live. Truth is most of us are followers. Most of us become less a follower as we grow into being comfortable within ourselves. Some of us never do become comfortable with our whole self. We all have shadows we need to acknowledge. That doesn’t mean we water our dark side it means we acknowledge it exists in us. We reap what we give attention to.

The ability to trust ourselves is learned and made steady by continued awareness. Sometimes for myself it shows up in something I speak without a thought that startles me with a “where did that come from.”

Mostly it is a nudge I sense physically. A sense in a certain area of my internal being that is neither Roses & Sunshine nor doom & gloom. It feels like a truth. Truth has no emotion attached to it. It just is. It cannot be changed by my hope or reaction.
